Dwyfor Camera Club meets at 7. 30 pm every Tuesday evening, from October to April, in the Abersoch Village Hall. The annual subscription is £17. 00 a year
(£6. 00 for students and claimants) and members also pay £1.20 each meeting, which includes refreshments and a free raffle, as well as contributing to the expenses of lecturers and competition judges.

The North Wales Photographic Association to which the Club is affiliated, along with about 20 other clubs in North Wales, also organises regional competitions and exhibitions and provides us with external judges and lecturers.

Anyone with an interest in photography is welcomed - male or female, young or old, beginners or experienced photographers. Help is available from experienced members in using your camera, improving your composition and techniques, and selecting your pictures if you wish to enter competitions.

Club competitions, for those wishing to enter, are divided into four categories; Monochrome (black & white), colour Prints, Transparencies (slides) and Projected Digital Images. You may enter any section or all of them, as you wish. Members find that they learn from the judging, whether or not they enter, but if you don't want to compete, there are plenty of other things to enjoy. We have regular lectures on technical matters and also travel pictures, as well as occasional outings and other social events. We also hold a Club Exhibition each August, where members' prints are displayed in the Neuadd Dwyfor (Cinema) in Penlan Street, Pwllheli. This is popular with both locals and visitors, many of whom return each year to see the new work on show.

You will find that we are a very democratic club with helpful and friendly members and you are welcome to come along to a few meetings for a trial, before committing yourself to joining.
