Eglwys Tudweiliog Church

Mae Eglwys y plwyf, Eglwys St. Cwyfan yn sefyll ar frig bryn sydd yng nghanol y pentref. Ail adeiladwyd y'r Eglwys yn 1849 gan ddyn or enw George Gilbert Scott.

Fe'i adeiladwyd ar safle lle bu adeilad canol oesol (sonwyd amdano yn1254 ac yn ddiweddarach fel un o capeli Abaty Enlli. Symudwyd y bedyddfaen C14 or eglwys wreiddiol a gellir ei weld heddiw yng ngardd Cefnamlwch, yn ogystal a cherrig addurniadol or eglwys sydd mewn wal yn ymyl porthdy y plas.

Mae yna arysgrifen ar gloch yr eglwys 'Tydwielog /1734 made in Dublin.' Mae cerrig coffa yn y fynwent- Francis Jones of Llangoed 1680, a Jane Trygarn 1683

The parish Church of St Cwyfan sits on the crown of the hill at the centre of the village. The church was re-built in 1849 by George Gilbert Scott.

It was rebuilt on the site of an older medeival structure (mentioned in 1254 and later as a chapel of the Abbey of Bardsey). The font circa C14 from the original church was removed and now sits on the front lawn at Cefnamlwch. Medeival stone corbels were also taken to Cefnamlwch and can be seen in a wall near the gatehouse.

The Bell in the bell-cote is inscribed 'Tydwielog /1734 made in Dublin.' There are memorials in the churchyard - Francis Jones of Llangoed 1680, and Jane Trygarn 1683

Mae'r eglwys hon wedi'i cysegru i Sant Cwyfan, sant o'r 7fed ganrif. Cafodd yr eglwys hon hefyd ei ailadeiladu yn y 19 ganrif a'r gred yw y byddai'r pererinion yn ymweld â llecyn sy'n agos iawn i'r eglwys bresennol. This church is dedicated to St. Cwyfan who lived in the 7C. Again this church was rebuilt during the 19C and it is thought possible that the pilgrims would have visited a site very near the present church.
