Through loss control and risk transfer, this department works to prevent or mitigate loss to the people and assets of the University of Idaho.

The risk management process includes the study of what risks we face, how to manage those risks, and coordination of efforts to manage risk. Our services include risk assessment; coordination with the State of Idaho program of risk management and insurance; administration of UI insurance policies; claims management; coordination with emergency planning and safety programs; security liaison with the Moscow police department; and contract assistance (waivers, indemnity, insurance).
